Tips for your Job Interview Makeup Look!

Hey everyone! I am back with a quick blog post about a makeup look that is pretty much popular for all fresh graduates out there. Are you ready? Let’s go! πŸ˜„

Tip #1: DO NOT WEAR HEAVY MAKEUP

20140614-035234-13954111.jpg (Image Source: http://herapereira.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/too-much-makeup.jpg)

– Ladies! This is a must, okay? Why? Because remember, this is a job interview and not a party. You do not want your interviewer to think that you are wearing too much makeup on. Plus, the look that you should aim for is a more sophisticated makeup look that is a bit toned down. You should just look like your normal self, only better. πŸ˜‰

Tip #2: MOISTURIZE AND HYDRATE YOUR FACE

20140614-040014-14414080.jpg(Image Source: http://waterbasedfoundation.net/water-based-moisturizer-the-best-moisturizing-solution-for-dry-and-sensitive-skin)

– Well, before applying any makeup on, always keep in mind that you should keep your face hydrated at all times by moisturizing it. This will not only bring out your natural glow, but this will also give you a youthful touch that will surely snag the attention of your interviewer. You do not wanna look like you have been through hell and back just looking for a job. Keep it cool and hydrate yourself with water and apply your favorite moisturizer.

Tip #3: GROOM YOUR BROWS

– I truly believe that your eyebrows frame your face. Grooming them will enhance your natural facial features. And yes, I know you are prolly thinking to yourself that you cannot make them look even and what not. Well, let me tell you that your eyebrows are not twins but sisters. One brow will never look like the other brow even if you try and try. Well, not unless you have measured the two closely and you have an obsession of making them both look alike. Nonetheless, its always advisable to groom them. Be mindful also to use an eyebrow color that matches your skin tone and hair color. πŸ˜„

Tip #4: STAY CLOSE TO A NEUTRAL LIP COLOR AND BROWN EYESHADOWS

20140614-040413-14653833.jpg(Image Source: http://beautyeditor.ca/2013/10/17/penelope-cruz-makeup/)

20140614-042301-15781627.jpg (Image Source: http://set-make-up.com/lipstick-color-category-neutrals/)

– Please ladies, refrain from using a bold lip color. This will not only distract your interviewer, but it will also make them have a feel that you are wearing too much makeup on. Remember, you are selling yourself for that job position, and you do not wanna give off a bad impression. However, if you feel more comfortable with a bold lip color on, and it boosts up your confidence then be my guest. Just make sure to pair it off with a neutral eyeshadow color. I will reiterate it again, this is a job interview and not a party. I am saying this because I see so much women walking in and out of interviews looking as if they just came from a glamour shoot. Although there is nothing wrong with that, it is still advisable that you wear very minimal makeup on.
– Brown eyeshadow pallets and/or sets are a must have in this makeup look. Why? Because brown eyeshadows enhance the natural contour of your eyes. Paired with the proper highlight color that matches your skin tone, you are sure to rock the look. πŸ˜„

Tip #5: SMILE

– They say that the best makeup look anyone can wear would be a smile on their face. So why not do it, right? What’s the point of fixing yourself up if you do not have a smile on your face? Being happy and confident of who you are makes so much of a difference. Even if your makeup look doesn’t look like a Vogue Magazine look, that pleasant smile you have makes you so much prettier than any top model out there. I am not exaggerating this for blogging purposes only, okay? I am saying this because a smiling face always gives off a positive first impression, especially for interviewers. 😊

My First Up-do for a client!

Hey there, everyone! I am back with another quick update and this is about my first ever up-do for a client. As you all know, hair is not really my forte that is why I normally get my friends who are experts in hair care to do this for me. However, on the day that they were not really available to do hair, I had to do it by myself. 😦

At first, I felt really bad because I could not say no to a client, especially if its a relative of mine. Thus, I really had to Google some of the hairstyles on the internet just to have a background about Hair and how to style it. To cut the long story short, I was able to learn how to do an up-do that will surely match the makeup and outfit of my cousin, Dr. Cusi. Hence, I came up with this one (see picture below).

And the picture below is the final output! πŸ™‚

I know its not really much of a big deal to some of you guys, but to me it wasn’t as easy as it looks to some who are already experts in this field. That is why I opt to study hair styling soon. I do hope that by doing so, I can maximize my skills in the health, beauty and wellness industry. Therefore, helping Women all around the world to be confident of who they are and to be able to bring out the true beauty in them. Sounds cliche, right? But that’s just how it is. πŸ™‚

Well, I hope you like this quick update of mine! I will post more blogposts soon! Talk to you soon! Take care and God bless! πŸ™‚ ❀️

My Take on Hair Extensions (Human Hair vs. Synthetic Hair)

Hey everyone! I know I haven’t been blogging in forever simply because I have too much going on with my life these days. SORRY FOR THAT!!! So now that I am back, I can show you what I have been up to lately. As for this blogpost, I will be talking hair extensions because I just got my first real human hair extensions. If you have been following me on Twitter and you’re a contact of mine on Facebook; I have been rambling about this for ages. I’ve been wanting to get long hair for the longest time but since I had so much hair color treatment and what not, I just can’t grow it to become healthy and strong.

To be very honest, I had to cut the ends from time to time because my split ends were growing faster than my hair and that sucks. I even went to the extent of getting a Brazilian Blowdry Treatment from a local salon near my school simply to just heal my hair. Nonetheless, I admit that I am at fault for this. I’m guessing that if you guys have read my previous blogs; I wrote about my DIY Hair Dye Remover Experience which I do not regret doing since it is the one basically responsible for my hair color as of the moment. Just to explain what happened, I kind of stripped down the color some more to make my hair light again after getting highlights for Christmas. Yup, I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, “what the hell does she want to do with her hair?” Hm, let’s just say that I am one person who likes changing up my look from time to time and that is through my hair. I consider it as one of my assets, that’s why.

Just so you could understand what was going on, I will be posting a few pictures below. In the photos, you’ll see how damaged my hair became after all that coloring and what not.

My hair with highlights. I got this after Christmas Season when I went on a vacation far far away. :)

This was my hair after I did about 3-4 DIY Hair Dye Remover Solution. As you can see, its really damaged and frizzy. So again, if you are attempting to do this DIY Hair Remover Solution, you must treat your hair from time to time. My hair became this damaged because of the highlights I got last Christmas. To be honest, I regret getting highlights because it honestly slipped my mind that the hair with highlights on was going to get lightened as well. I know, that was extremely stupid on my part but I will again, just charge it on to experience.

This was how my hair looked like when I tried Cesh Pilar's Synthetic Hair Extensions. As you can see, its not really a match to my own hair. Basically, this was because of the highlights and the DIY Hair Dye Remover Solution that I did.

Moving on, I got my first hair extensions from a girl I met at Sulit.com.ph. Her name is Cesh Pilar. I met up with her a few months back at SM Manila to get my Wavy Blonde Clip-on Synthetic Hair Extensions for only Php 280. It was a pretty cheap deal and up to now, I still do not regret getting it. However, my problem was since I started out with a black hair color and based from my explanation above, it wasn’t really an exact match to my hair. Hence, I had to again, color my hair just so that I could match the extensions. I think you’d know what the aftermath led to, and that is none other than damaged hair. EXTREMELY DAMAGED RUBBERY HAIR THAT LED ME TO HAVE A BRAZILIAN BLOWDRY TREATMENT. I blame myself for that because I have already started out with blonde hair to begin with but whatever, I’ll just charge it to experience anyway.

My hair after I got the Brazilian Blowdry Treatment. As you can see, it became straight and healthy. However, this didn't last very long. I guess after a month, my hair was starting to get frizzy and that is when my hair coloring agendas came into the picture once again.

Since I wasn’t happy with that, I didn’t wear the extensions for quite sometime. Mainly because they were wavy and my hair was straight. So it wasn’t until the Brazilian Blowdry Treatment wore off, and with basically 3 layers of hair color to somewhat get the desired color that I wanted as of the moment, that I have gotten a chance to wear them again. (YAY) The photo below was how I looked liked wearing them.

My hair with the clip-on extensions. I was able to somewhat kind of match it with my hair color. However, my hair was still too dark so its really not a complete match. *sighs*

As you can see in the photo above, it is still not quite a match with my real hair. Hence, I kinda just gave up on it. So as time passed by, I was treating my hair with a few products that I will be posting down below just to get it back into shape; which it did happen actually. I mean, I was honesty shocked by how effective these inexpensive products are when used everyday. You’ll definitely like them if you’re a hair fanatic like me who has severely damaged hair. To be very specific, I was even able to had my hair colored at a salon (courtesy of my brother because he hated what my hair looks like) without it dying. So its a pretty good deal actually.

So these have been the products that I'm using to treat and maintain my hair. :)

Products that I use to treat my hair:

  • Glam Hair Luxe Intensive Care Hair Treatment
  • Fabulouz Gems Keratin Hot Oil
  • Ashley Shine KeratinΒ Hair Reconstruction CreamΒ with Mangosteen Extract

I will write a different blogpost on that as soon as I replenish my stocks and use it for a longer period of time. So going back, after I had my hair done, I decided that it was time for me to get permanent Human Hair Extensions and take care of my hair with it once and for all. Yeah, I know that I have probably taken a while to get this idea to sink into my head. HAHAHAHA. Oh well, as I have said earlier, I will just have to charge it to experience. So basically, I went online again to Sulit.com.ph to find hair extensions. I met a girl named, Nikka Yamanouchi who offered me a pretty good deal on Human Hair Extensions which was Php 40 per strand of 28 inches, and so I went for it. My good friend, Zharmaine Arjinal whom I have mentioned in most of my blogs, accompanied me there. We took a jeep going there since my car was coding and got soaking wet in the rain. We also got flooded too because of the awful drainage system in Manila. Anyways, so once we got there, Nikka placed on my hair extensions. I was pretty happy with it because it was a complete match to my hair color which I wasn’t really expecting. Plus, the hair she gave me was in pretty good shape. I guess, if you were in my shoes, you’d be as happy as I was.

Since the hair was long, I had to get it trimmed. It felt weird though, asking someone to cut your extensions. HAHAHA. Okay, that was so random. After a few days of wearing it, I felt as if the extensions were not as adhesive enough on my hair. Consequently, I had to seek the help of another person that I found also at Sulit.com.ph. Man, is this site awesome or what? You can find loads of pretty good deals in there. Yeah, okay so what I did was to contact Syra Davies who happens to offer hair extensions at a lower price which is Php 25 for 20 inches hair and Php 30 for 28 inches of hair. They actually offer out a promo which is Php 5000 for 100 strands for braided hair extensions with two micro-rings attached. So I went to her place in Pasig and got my hair done. True enough, the extensions that Nikka placed were already coming off. So what Syra did was to braid my hair and attach the extensions and secure them with micro-rings. After a few days of wearing them, I can say that I am really impressed because now, I can wash my hair and even apply treatment without worrying that it will come off or what. To be very specific, we should not actually leave the treatment on to our scalp since it can be a cause of dandruff, so I prefer placing it on the ends of my hair and only applying a few on my scalp.

My hair after I got the extensions trimmed because they were 28 inches long. This were the hair extensions done by Nikka Yamanouchi. :)

This is how the hair from Nikka Yamanouchi's Hair Extensions looked like when curled. :) As you can see, we can really style the hair in whatever way we want it to look like.

In summary, I will list down a few pros and cons I had with hair extensions per se so you guys could understand my plight.

So when it comes to Clip-on Hair Extensions that are synthetic, the few pros would be:

  • It is easy to remove when you don’t want to wear them anymore
  • You can wash them like normal hair
  • You don’t need to worry about its style and texture since it doesn’t change no matter what you do to it

As for the cons I had with it:

  • It is hard to match it with your real hair color
  • You cannot color nor style it in accordance to what you want it to look like (Believe me, I have tried)
  • It kind of comes off from time to time so you have to really secure it so it will be like your real hair.

I know that some of you will argue that there are also Human Hair extensions that are clip-ons as well. However, I find that if I just get them attached to my hair, it would be easier to style it. This is because some extensions come in like pieces of hair and some are like one big piece. Plus, it is really heavy and painful to wear at times. Well, that is just my verdict on that. It really depends on what you prefer.

As for the pros and cons of Permanent (until the hair grows out, of course) Human Hair Extensions, the pros would be:

  • You can easily color and match it to your real hair
  • It is easier to style since you won’t have to detach it or what not anymore
  • It is really like real hair when worn

The few cons would include:

  • You have to really be careful in styling it because once you pull it, the extensions or maybe even your real hair will come off as well
  • You have to make sure that you don’t apply that much conditioning treatment on the upper layers because it can loosen the micro-rings attached to it (although this is something that should also be done with real hair as well)
  • It is kind of hard to hide it when you style it so you have to really be careful and of course, get an experienced person to teach you how to style and take care of it
  • Also, if your hair is curly or wavy, you really have to get a human hair that actually matches the texture of your hair

So those are my opinions on hair extensions per se. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog. If you have any questions, feel free to comment down below. I will address you as soon as possible from this time on. Thank you so so very much and I’ll see you hopefully on YouTube if I decide making videos again or just here on my blog. Take care and to God be the glory. πŸ™‚

And this has mostly been the hairstyle I do after I had my extensions redone by Syra Davies. She also taught me how to curl and style it this way so I'm really happy with it. Thank you very much! :)

For those who are interested to buy or get hair extensions as well; here in the Philippines, these are the contact numbers of the people whom I got these from:

P.S.:

I made a bargain with regard to the prices of my extensions from these people and in return, I wanted to advertise them. I just wrote this, just so you know. Thank you so so much!!
