Bobbie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes: Swatches and Review

Hey everyone! Its been quite a while since I last updated my blog. I am sorry if I’ve been missing in action lately. I’ve been really busy. But I’ll try my very best to blog more often for y’all.:)

Anyway, I am back with another blogpost and this time its about the Bobbie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes. If you have not heard of this before, it is a local brand that manufactures cosmetics and other beauty essentials. They are pretty much known for their nail polishes, and are locally available in popular department stores in the country. Their products are very affordable, and great for Filipino skin.

Bobbie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes

So considering that they sell somepretty affordable products, I was very much curious to try their Cosmetic line, and so I had to pick up these two items which cost around Php 215 each. These are their ‘Into The Nudes’ and ‘Smoked Out’ Eyeshadow Palettes that both had 12 different shades of eyeshadow. I purchased these at the Robinson’s Metro-East Department Store along Marcos Highway. They were pretty much sold out since they only had like 2 of each left on the display. But please don’t quote me on that just yet, because I didn’t really had a chance to get some assistance from the sales lady there. Hehe. 🙂

Anyway, here are the swatches of the two palettes:

PRODUCT REVIEW:

Pros:

  • The price is very affordable. You get 12 shades for only Php 215.
  • Some shades are very pigmented.
  • Good for beginners.
  • Available in most department stores nationwide.
  • Comes with a free dual-ended brush (sponge-tip applicator and flat eye-shadow brush).
  • Some shades are easy to blend (mostly the shimmery ones).
  • Travel-friendly and cute packaging.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a mirror.
  • The matte eyeshadows in the palette are not only difficult to swatch, but can also be very hard to blend.
  • Some shades in the ‘Into The Nudes’ palette are not really “nude”, and most of them are shimmery eyeshadows.
  • Some shades in the ‘Smoked Out’ palette are really hard to swatch on hand, thus you can expect the same when you apply it onto your eyelids.
  • Prone to fall-outs and creasing, so you have to be very careful in applying. I find that its better to use a primer for the colours to stand out more.

Will I recommend this?

  • Yes, especially if you are building up your makeup collection. This is a very good product to add to your vanity if you are just starting out with makeup. Not only is it very affordable, but you get 12 shades for the price of one. Not bad for a locally manufactured eyeshadow product. Aside from that, some of the shades are really vibrant, hence you can create tons of makeup looks with these two palettes alone. Just be careful of fall-outs and creasing.

So that’s it for this blogpost, everyone. I hoped y’all liked it. If you have anymore questions, feel free to comment down below and I’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible. Ciao!! And thank you for reading!! Take care!:)

Lol Cosmetics Haul! 😃

20140426-004629.jpg
Hey everyone! So I am back with another blogpost. This time it is about a new cosmetic line that I have just stumbled upon at SM Department Store and Watson’s. The cosmetic line is called, LOL Cosmetics that was imported from France. I am guessing that this is a drugstore product line based on the packaging and price of the product. I will be linking the LOL Cosmetic’s website down below for more details so you too can have an idea of what this product is all about. 😃

Lol Cosmetics 😄

Since this is a haul blogpost, I will be placing a picture of the product down below together with the price (in Philippine Peso), so that you will have an idea of how much this product costs. 😀 Also, I will be including a short description of the product so you’ll somewhat have a bit of a background with regard to its texture and ect. 😃

Before I post the pictures, I would just like to indicate here that the product was not sent to me by anyone and all of the opinions to be listed down below are of my own. Thank you. 😄 Plus, I also have not reviewed the product yet, so what you’ll be seeing down below would only be an opinion based on how I have tried the product on my hand (via Testers in the department store). If you want me to do a more detailed review on the product, feel free to comment down below and I sure will upload one just for you. 😀

Let’s begin. 😃

Product Name: 01 Strawberry Orange Lip Balm
Price: Php 119
20140426-005657.jpg
Thoughts: I honestly have not tried this product at all since it does not have a sample. However, upon opening it, I have noticed that it has such a sweet smell and it does follow the scent of the product name as well. I sure hope it moisturizes my face in the future though. 😄

Product Name: 02 Sweet Disposition (lighter shade) and 08 Kiss Kiss
Price: Php 99
20140426-005644.jpg
20140426-005607.jpg
Thoughts: Upon trying the tester for this product, I immediately fell in love with it because of its creamy texture. I mean, I just had to buy it. Plus it is also very well pigmented. I just do not know about the staying power of this one. However, when you try the tester, you will notice that the product glides on smoothly and that it has this sweet candy-like scent.

Product Name: 01 All Bronzed Up (Bronzer), 02 Chateu Rose (Blush) and 01 Black Betty (Eyeshadow)
Price: Php 139
20140426-005634.jpg
20140426-005625.jpg
20140426-005748.jpg
Thoughts: I personally have not tried these products on myself yet on a full face of makeup, so I can’t really say anything about how long it will stay and ect. However, upon taking swatches of it on my hand, I have noticed that they are very well pigmented. I just hope that it is also blend-able too when I try it either on my face or on a client’s face. 😊

Product Name: 01 Natural Beige
Price: Php 139
20140426-005615.jpg
Thoughts: Upon trying its tester on my hand, I have noticed that the product is very light weight and that it spreads out evenly. I just do not know about the coverage yet since I have not really tried it on my face or on a client yet. Again, I just hope it doesn’t cause breakouts or anything. 😀

Well, that’s basically it for this Haul. I know you are prolly wondering if I should repurchase this or not, but as of now, I really can’t tell because it really all depends on its performance for when I do a review about it. 😊 So if you have questions and/or requests, please feel free to comment down below and I will get back to you soon! 😀

Take care and God bless you always! I shall see you on my next blog post! Goodbye!! 😊😊😊

My DIY Hair Waxing Experience

Olaaaaaa!! I’m back with another blog and this time, its all about hair waxing. Well, I don’t know with you guys but I really am a fan of waxing. I sometimes go to the local waxing station near our place or do it all by myself at home. So before I give you a quick tutorial as to how I wax my legs, I’ll just list down a couple of benefits with waxing which I have gathered online. I will put a link down below as to where I got them.

  1. It lasts longer than shaving your legs. Why? This is because waxing pulls out the hair from the roots, allowing it to grow thinner (as some would claim; although this is something that I personally experience as well). Moreover, this also removes dead skin cells hence, giving out a flawless finish.
  2. Its a time saver because some waxing products allow your skin to remain flawless in a span of four weeks or so. Whereas, shaving mostly yields to rashes and uneven hair growth – hair looks longer and thicker in some areas.
  3. This is a method that is less prone to accidents when you do it correctly. Inevitably, if you do something wrong, you are mostly prone to mistakes that can yield to irritations, rashes and scarring. So as for waxing, the best way to avoid them is to apply it in a direction where your hair would grow and to follow the instructions written on your waxing kit.

So those are probably the top three benefits that I have gathered from these wonderful sources:

So as promised, I would now write a quick tutorial as to how I wax my own legs and what products I use to do it. If you follow me on Twitter, liked my page and also am a follower of mine on Instagram, you’d see that I have written a post with regard to waxing. As written there, the three products that I use would be:

  • No Hair Wax Kit with Mangosteen Extract Unwanted Hair Remover that costs about Php 300 at Watson’s
  • Glam Works Hair Removal Paper that costs roughly about Php 30 also at Watson’s
  • Glam Works Hair Removal Wax Kit that costs less than Php 100 (sorry, I forgot the price; I will just check it and edit this soon) at Watson’s

Just a quick review on these products would be that they are absolutely inexpensive and very effective to use. Based from my experience, they haven’t caused me any allergies and they have really good reviews online. Also, its very easy to use and its not necessarily harmful to your skin. So if you’re interested, its written above where you could get them and just try them. However, make sure that you consult your doctor to avoid irritation. I always have to stress that out because I personally have very sensitive skin that I would like to take care by all means.

HOW TO: WAX YOUR OWN LEGS OR ANY PART OF YOUR BODY

*Note: I am using the ‘No Hair Wax Kit with Mangosteen Extract Unwanted Hair Remover’ on the photo below*

1014124_10151523315594632_1538920906_n

  1. Before applying the wax, make sure that your skin is clean and free of any oil or dirt prior to waxing. I suggest that you even take a shower before you wax in order to prevent irritations.
  2. This step is optional if you are allergic to Powder or Baby Powder, but if you’re not, use this to mattify your skin. This will help the wax to become more adhesive thus, making it easier to pull.
  3. Following the natural flow of your hair, apply the wax over it using a Popsicle Stick. Mine came with the ‘Glam Works Hair Removal Kit’ but yeah, you can use any popsicle stick in this process.
  4. Place the hair removal sheet on top of the waxed area and flatten it out. Make sure that the wax sticks on to the paper as much as possible.
  5. Pull the hair removal paper opposite to how it was applied for this will pull out the hair, thus giving that flawless finish.
  6. Once you are done waxing, you can just easily go back to certain areas with a tweezer and tweeze out the unwanted hair that you have missed out during the whole of your waxing process.
  7. Another optional step which I actually encourage, but not to people who happen to be allergic to oil or any type of oil for that matter; is to apply oil over the waxed area to remove the excess wax and to moisturize the area to prevent irritation and ‘chicken skin’.

TIPS FOR FIRST TIMERS OR WHAT NOT:

  • Always make sure to pick a product that is suitable to your skin type.
  • If you have sensitive skin, I suggest that you consult your doctor prior to waxing in order to prevent irritation.
  • In applying the wax, make sure to only get a pea-sized amount on the popsicle stick. This is so that you would know as to when you should add more wax or not.
  • Do not immediately wash your legs after you wax. WHY? This is because our pores are wide open when we wax, hence, we have to return back moisture and allow the pores to naturally close. Also, the main cause of ‘chicken skin’ is washing after a waxing session. However, if you really have to shower, then I suggest that you shower with luke warm water instead.
  • Do not pull our the hair removal paper hard or slow, and just do it in a right pace. This is so that accidents, scarring, rashes and other forms of irritation can be avoided.

So there you have it guys! I hope you enjoyed this blog and this quick tutorial as to how you could wax your own legs at home. I suggest that you read the instructions written on the waxing kit prior to doing it yourself or to read blogs online to know whether or not you should purchase a product. This is to help widen your knowledge on beauty products and to prevent all sorts of irritation to your skin from happening. One good place I would suggest that you go is none other than Watson’s for they really have all the beauty needs for our body to look its best. Thank you and good luck on your waxing experience! TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!! 🙂
